A wide range direct reading x-ray dosemeter.

A portable, direct-reading electrometer is described which, coupled to a 40 cm3 ionization chamber, has been used for measuring x-ray diagnostic gonad doses and dose rates down to 0.45 mr and 0.045 mr/sec full scale. The circuit is essentially a direct-coupled battery operated amplifier with negative feedback, and provided with pre-set compensation for component variations and chamber volume. The performance is analysed in some detail and comparedwith similar circuits.
