Essentials of Percutaneous Dialysis Interventions is no exception. One could argue that this text is by no means the “essentials,” but rather a well constructed and comprehensive review of the techniques used to evaluate, diagnose, and treat hemodialysis-dependent patients. In addition, this text also spends a reasonable amount of time discussing the optimal framework and organization for the establishment of an interventional dialysis practice. Chapters are organized in standardized format with a high-yield “Key Points” box at the end of each chapter. All discussion is expertly referenced with relevant and often recent data. Medical imaging is used to support the text. Diagrams have been inserted to demonstrate anatomy, procedural techniques, and, in some cases, pathophysiology. Research-focused chapters are well supported by charts and graphs. Diagnostic and treatment algorithms are proposed when necessary. Essentials of Percutaneous Dialysis Interventions is well organized. It is quite apparent that Dr. Rajan invested time in removing redundant information and structuring the chapters in a manner that flows evenly. The book begins by covering, in some detail, the National Kidney Foundation Disease Outcomes Quality Initiative and Dialysis Out-
