Determination of blasting vibration parameters using Particle Swarm Optimization

The control of blasting ground vibration has been an important research subject in engineering blasting field, and the accurate forecast of blasting vibration is the premise and basis of vibrating control. Particle swarm optimization is a global optimization algorithm for dealing with problems in which a best solution can be represented as a point or surface in an n-dimensional space. In this paper, the principle of Particle Swarm Optimization is stated briefly and PSO algorithm is applied in calculation of blasting vibration parameters. The results show that the velocity of blasting vibration calculated by PSO is accurately achieved and the application of PSO algorithm to determination of blasting parameters is feasible.
