When the fault current flows into an independent grounding electrode, potential interference occurs in adjacent grounding electrodes. Potential interference is generally studied in uniform soil but is not enough analyzed in two-layered soil structure. This paper presents a method to reduce potential interference of communication grounding system from due to grounding electrodes of lightning protection system in two-layered soil structure. As a result, it was found that the grounding electrodes to be interfered should be buried in soil with lower resistivity in two-layered soil structure.
