Visualisierungskomponenten bei webbasierten Suchmaschinen : Methoden, Kriterien und ein Marktüberblick

Web based search engines using visualization components for the representations of results are becoming more frequent. The approaches for the visualizations diverge however significantly with respect to their objectives and execution. In this paper the applied methods of visualization are described and classified systematically. A market overview on the leading and freely available systems is given followed by a comparison and identification of typical challenges that exist in this context. Finally, innovative new concepts for the visualization of relations in search engine results and the visualization of relations in specific application areas are being introduced.
