Reflected impedance due to a conducting half-space placed at an arbitrary position below a circular current loop

Abstract Mathematical expressions are obtained for the reflected resistance and inductance from a semi-infinite block of conductor placed at an arbitrary angle below a single turn of thin wire. The expressions for R and L were computer processed and numerical results are plotted against the inclination angle, with the conductor properties (such as σ and μ) and coil position (height) taken as parameters. These results have a definite impact on the process of eddy current testing of metallic samples.
