Target tracking method, electronic device, and computer storage medium

Disclosed is a target tracking method, applied in an electronic device which comprises a camera. The method comprises: sending image data acquired by the camera to a control means; receiving position information of a target point sent by the control means, wherein the target point is a point selected by a user in a frame of the image data when the control means outputs the frame by means of a display screen, and is any point on a target to be tracked; determining a tracking template corresponding to the target to be tracked on the basis of the position information of the target point; and visually tracking the target to be tracked by means of a visual tracking algorithm on the basis of the tracking template corresponding to the target to be tracked. The present invention resolves the technical problem in the prior art that a moving object cannot be visually tracked by means of an online learning-based visual tracking algorithm when a interaction mode of the tracking template is defined by a user appointed area. The present invention also provides an electronic device and a computer storage medium.
