Overview of Building Information Modeling Applications in Construction Projects

This paper provides an overview of different building information modeling applications in construction projects in developed and developing countries. Different building information modeling criteria are identified using literature review and interviews with experts. A case study for discovering BIM applications in building construction projects in Egypt is carried out to also identify its different tools and techniques. This paper provides essential overview of building information modeling applications that can be useful to construction project teams in developing countries. The BIM assessment solves a major problem that faces construction project teams, who want to select Building Information Modeling applications to plan, execute, and control their projects.
