Setting SIR Targets for CDMA Mobile Systems in the Presence of SIR Measurement Error

This letter addresses how to set SIR targets higher than normally required, in order to mitigate the effect of signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) measurement error included in power control steps. We find that scaling up the SIR targets by 1 dB is conformable to resisting SIR measurement error for code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile systems. key words: SIR target setting, CDMA mobile system
