Dislocation Contribution to the Elastic Constants of Body-Centered Cubic Crystals

Expressions for dislocation contribution to the elastic constants of bcc crystals are obtained and applied to lithium. The contribution comes out to be less than 1% for screw dislocations. For edge dislocations, the contribution is about 1.3%. Edge dislocations are found to make a contribution about seven times larger than that of a similar density of screw dislocations. (auth)
