Chance constrained model for wind power usage based on demand response

One of puzzles for large scale wind power usage is its stochastic fluctuations. There are realistic meanings to smooth wind power output fluctuations grid-connected for system operation. The paper proposes a new approach to improve wind power usage based on demand response(DR).To describe the DR characteristics, both price-based and incentive-based DR are employed here and both cross-elastic and self-elastic coefficients for price-based DR are considered.Furthermore, since wind power is stochastic,a chance constrained decision model is developed for wind power usage to meet the confidence coefficientrequired for system operation. Moreover,to solve the model,a particle swarm algorthm combined stochastic simulation method is introduced. Finally based on a practical system,a day-ahead real time price(RTP)and DR resource dispatch optimal solution is obtained and analysis verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method to improve wind power usage based on DR.
