Application of Advanced Ping-pong Type Rotor Ground Fault Protection to Brushless Excitation Generator

In view of the problem of rotor one point earthing protection based on single-terminal current voltage injection type used in brushless excitation generator,this paper proposes method for changing the terminal lead of generator rotor by brush lifting device and using the principle of advanced ping-pong type to build one-point ground protection.This paper analyzes the principle of advanced ping-pong type rotor ground fault protection,a calculating method for grounding resistance and the criterion of the protection,and also establishes the simulation model of the rotor one point earthing protection based on Matlab/Simulink software.The simulation result shows that the proposed scheme can satisfy the precision and sensitivity requirement of the brushless excitation generator.
