Measurements of greenhouse gas fluxes from agriculture

Abstract Measurement of greenhouse gas exchange fluxes between agricultural ecosystems and the atmosphere are gaining importance in environmental studies related to agricultural activities, especially in the framework of the Kyoto protocol. Such measurements necessarily must combine expertise from different fields, e.g. agronomy, micrometeorology, chemistry and applied physics. In this paper, we give an overview of the state-of-the-art analytical tools in order to pinpoint the major uncertainties inherent to such measurements.
