Research on Anti-windup Variable Structure PI Control for Brushless DC Motor

The speed regulator in the brushless DC motor( BLDCM) current hysteresis control system will produce integral saturation due to the existence of the current limiter,thus resulting in increasing overshoot of the control system,deterioration of dynamic /steady-state performance,and other problems. The integral windup of BLDCM current hysteresis control system is analyzed and anti-windup variable structure PI control algorithm is applied to the speed regulator of the control system. To verify the effectiveness of the control method applied in the paper,a control system simulation model is built on the MATLAB / Simulink simulation platform. The simulation results show that: Compared with the traditional PI control algorithm,the anti-windup variable structure PI control algorithm can suppress integral windup of the system,reduce overshoot of speed response,shorten the time to reach steady-state,and improve system robustness against load disturbance.
