Performance comparison of two methods for human reliability analysis

This paper considers the different results obtained in qualifying the human error rate using two different techniques: THERP (Technique for Human Error Rate Prediction) and De-BDA (Detailed Block Diagram Analysis). The effect of dependence between both tasks and persons is considered. The theoretical differences among the methods developed are such that it is difficult to predict the nature and range of variations that could be obtained in results, if these methods are applied to compute the performance of human actions. The question of applicability is discussed.
