A computer program for evaluating the conditions necessary to sustain a limit cycle in a class of hydraulic control system

Abstract This paper presents a computer program which allows engineers involved in system design to determine the conditions necessary to sustain a limit cycle in a class of hydraulic control system. Information which characterizes the particular system under investigation is requested by the program via a dialogue with the user. Results are presented for an electrohydraulic system driving a load comprising inertia, viscous friction and coulomb friction. The program will run on any small computer with an ALGOL 60 compiler.
