Efficient computational tool for ramjet combustor research

A multigrid-base d calculation procedure is presented for the efficient solution of the time-averaged equations of a turbulent, elliptic-reacting flow. The equations are solved on a nonorthogonal curvilinear coordinate system. The physical models currently incorporated are a two-equation A-e turbulence model, a four-step chemical kinetics mechanism, and a Lagrangian particle-tracking procedure applicable to dilute sprays. Demonstration calculations are presented to illustrate the performance of the calculation procedure for a ramjet dump combustor configuration.
