Modeling and Understanding the Round-trip Time in the Fluid Flow Model

Based on the fluid flow model which described the window-size behavior in transmission control protocol (TCP), V. Misra worked out the expected congestion window size while the round-trip time (RTT) was a constant. However, in this paper, the expected congestion window size and some analytical results are obtained theoretically while RTT varies as an ordinary or a stochastic function. The introduction of stochastic processes for modeling RTT helps to understand the window-size behavior in congestion networks in a brand-new way.
