An adaptive iterative algorithm for joint signal and interference alignment based on target SINR criterion

In this paper, we consider the problem of designing transmit and receive matrices in the constant MIMO interference channel. We propose a distributed interference alignment algorithm that aims at ensuring a minimum target signal to interference plus noise ratio at each stream of all the links in the system. Based on duality properties between the uplink and the downlink of the system, we proved the convergence of our algorithm. The performances of the proposed algorithm in terms of system sum-capacity is compared to the performances of existing IA algorithms and show that we can outperform the performances of minimum leakage IA algorithm at low SNR region. By studying the chordal distances of the interference channel, we show that our proposed algorithm tries to reach a trade off between alignment and useful signal strengthening depending on system SNR.
