The Zeeman spectra of phosphorus and the D(H,O) donor complex in ultra-pure germanium

The Zeeman spectra of the hydrogen-oxygen donor complex D(H,O) and the phosphorus donor (P) were measured by photothermal ionisation spectroscopy for magnetic fields <or=4 kOe (reduced fields gamma <or=0.06) in ultra-pure germanium. Split components of the transitions from the ground state (GS) to the excited states bounded by 2P+or-, 3P+or-, 4P+or-, 5P+or-, 5F+or- and 6P+or- were investigated for the D(H,O) donor. For the P donor the transitions from the GS to the split 2P+or- states were observed. The Zeeman splittings observed in the D(H,O) and P transitions are very similar to those of the arsenic donor in Ge and are consistent with those predicted by theory for the Zeeman effect in the limit of low magnetic field.
