Service customization and billing approach in IN

The intelligent network (IN) aims to introduce new services more rapidly on the existing telecommunication network. Customers may have different requirements for services, and they may want to use multiple features in the same call. The current approach of service customizing is to design a very large service, merging many basic functions. The introduction and modification of the services are not very convenient in this manner, and large services will be very difficult to develop. This paper presents a new approach. Each service is designed to accomplish a basic function, and the service logic execution environment (SLEE) is improved to administer the concurrence of multiple services. The paper also addresses a billing model for the IN service in the new environment.
