A TECHNIQUEFORIMPROVING UNAESTHETIC IMPLANTRESTORATIONS

~~ -< Cliniciansare often faced with the treatmentof complex aestheticdilemmasaroundimplants, whichcan be caused by improper fixture placement and inadequate soft tissuemanagement.Eventhe mostaestheticporcelaincrown restoration will have an undesirableappearance if the softtissuearchitectureis deficient.Althoughsomeimplant fixtures may need to be trephined and the site grafted and retreated, this is a long processand may have an unpredictableoutcome. One alternativeis to attemptsoft tissueaugmentation around the unaestheticrestoration. Caseswill be used to demonstratethe use of the pediculated connectivetissue graft to augment deficiencies in soft tissuearoundpreviously restoredimplants in the maxillary aestheticzone.
