Long-term results of minimally invasive treatment for chronic pancreatitis

rate was 51％, and the success rate of re―treatment for recurrences was 84％. While the minimally invasive treatments provided effective long―term benefits without complications in approximately 80％ of cases, endoscopic treatment had to be repeated in 19 cases (16％) and surgery in 8 cases (7％). Many complicated cases, such as those involving pseudocysts or lesions in the pancreatic tail, are resistant to the minimally invasive treatment; in such cases surgical treatment needs to be considered.
