Reliability analysis of phased-mission complex systems for warship

Warship is a large and complex system. According to the characteristics of complexity for the ship structure and mission, the reliability analysis of ship can be divided into three levels: equipment level, subsystem level and system level. Products at all levels are analyzed from bottom to top through an iterative approach to achieve the convergence. In order to compute the mission reliability of the ship system, the entire mission profile is divided into two parts: reliability analysis of repairable system in navigation and returned voyage phase and that of non-repairable system in the integrated combat phase. Firstly, analytical algorithm of the multi mission profile is proposed by computing the mission reliability of each mission profile. Then a Monte-Carlo simulation algorithm is studied to compute the reliability of a repairable system in the navigation and returned voyage phase. Finally, according to the three phases, series model of the phased-mission system is established to compute the mission reliability. The application of the method is illustrated by taking the real warship's mission profile as an example.
