A novel decentralised DCA concept for a TDD network applicable for UMTS

The property that in a TDD system the uplink (reverse link) and downlink (forward link) are at the same radio frequency carrier is exploited by a novel decentralised dynamic channel assignment (DCA) algorithm. It can be shown that a special TS assignment plan in combination with the decentralised DCA algorithm can achieve about 7.5% greater capacity than an equivalent FDD system.
