Conceptual design of an MHD retrofit of the Corette Plant Billings, Montana

The results of the conceptual design of an MHD retrofit for the Corette Plant in Billings, Montana, are presented. Canvassing over 100 utilities results in a general response that the retrofitted power plant should be over 150 MW/sub e/, have a steam reheat cycle, be base-loaded, and be operated by a utility. The consensus was that these design features would produce believable and usable results on which the utilities could base future generating plans. These factors guided the design presented here.<<ETX>>
