Comprehensive Test of Nonverbal Intelligence

The Comprehensive Test of Nonverbal Intelligence (CTONI; Hammill, Pearson, & Wiederholt, 1997) was designed to give examiners a means for nonverbally assessing reasoning skills of individuals from ages 6–0 to 89–11. Its six subtests (i.e., Pictorial Analogies, Geometric Analogies, Pictorial Categories, Geometric Categories, Pictorial Sequences, and Geometric Sequences) measure the ability to find relationships among pictures of familiar objects and unusual geometric designs. Test takers simply point to their answers; no manipulation of objects, reading, writing, or oral responses are required to take the test.
