FE Modeling of Blade Couple with Friction Contacts under Dynamic Loading

Abstract — The model of the bladed couple with friction element was numerically and experimentally investig ated for vibration suppression evaluation. The dynamics and contact problem of blade couple with the friction e lement was modeled by a 3D FE model in ANSYS 11.0. It enables to analyze the influence of dry friction co ntact at dynamics of the couple at different loading such as resonant forced vibration and at free vibration aft er short resonant loading. The results show non-linear effec t of the friction coupling namely in the case of macro-s lip movements of the friction element in the blade shro ud inter-space. The findings about damping ratio is in agreement with the experimental observations. .
