Vivaldi Antennas and its use in Wideband Measurement Systems

A kind of wideband slot line antenna, namely the Vivaldi antenna, is introduced in this paper. Its working mechanism and the relationship between its performance characters and its structure parameters are explained. We also lay out some specific Vivaldi antennas with different feeding geometry. A Vivaldi antenna with general form is analyzed by FDTD method, and its matching character is studied and the results are presented in this paper to reveal its wideband perfonnance. Finally, we show some applications of Vivaldi antennas in the wideband measurement systems.
