Diode-pumped solid state lasers: from 10 W to 10 kW

A review is given on the recent developments of diode pumped solid state lasers. Emphasis is placed more on reliable industrial systems, less on the various laboratory set-ups. With a glance into the future the upper limits of output power and beam quality are estimated.
