INVESTIGATION OF SIMULATION TESTING PROJECT ON RENDEZVOUS AND DOCKING

This paper presents a simulation testing project on ground rendezvous and docking, which consists of CCD camera, triaxial position servo set and triaxial attitude turn table. The system composed of CCD camera, triaxial position servo set and triaxial attitude turn table imitates the chasing vehicle, while the system composed of triaxial calibration turn table and five point sources imitates the target vehicle. The chasing vehicle obtains target's visual frequency information of five point sources through CCD camera, calculates target's position and attitude angle with the aid of visual frequency processor and computer, and then precisely traces the target by servo system and actuator. The mathematical model of rendezvous and docking procedure is built up. The simulation result proves the effectiveness of the model.
