FPGA Implementation of IEEE802.11a-based OFDM Synchronization Algorithm

Synchronization is one of the most important links of OFDM system.At present,there have been quite a lot of such synchronization algorithms for various kinds of OFDM systems.These methods can be roughly categorized into three types:pilot based,preamble based and cyclic prefix based.However,the synchronization algorithm(including symbol timing,frequency offset estimation and its correction) proposed in this paper is based on IEEE802.11a frame structure.Also,a low-complexity FPGA implementation of the specific modules of the algorithm is presented.
