Analysis of countermeasures for earthquake precaution and disaster reduction in cities

In order to reduce damage of city earthquake to the lowest,the char acteristic of the sources that cause earthquake disasters and the characteristic of the city were analyzed in this paper.Based on those analyses,five counterm easures to reduce the disaster of cities were put forward from different aspects,i.e.,perfection of early warning system,doing well in construction project fo rtification against earthquake,application of new-type construction material i nnovation system and new technology,laying out earthquake evacuation route and urgent refuge and enhancing monitoring of lifeline system.
