Direct calculation of floor response spectra from the Fourier transform of ground movement — Application to the SUPERPHENIX fast reactor project

Abstract This paper describes a method for the direct calculation of floor response spectra from ground response spectra. The procedure utilizes the Fourier transform of the ground movement. The mathematical derivations are given in detail, and the method is applied to the calculation of the floor response spectra for a structure which is a simplified model of the SUPER-PHENIX fast breeder reactor power plant.
