Study on the noise control of the wheel loader

Abstract. With development of economy, the engineering mechanics is more and more widely applied to urban construction. And the wheel loader is one of the most popularly used construction machinery. Meanwhile, the heavy noise of wheel loader has got more attention from people. It has become one of the major city noise pollutions, which has made a serious impact on people's physical and mental health. So it is important to reduce the noise of construction machinery. The noise of a certain wheel loader is measured through test and the test data are analyzed by MATLAB software to get the auto-power spectrum, by which peak noise energy distribution can be obtained. Then a new method whose research object is audio in noise measure is used to verify the distribution. And the result is the same. The application on frequency spectrum analysis method in noise signal can identify the noise source. Three main noise source of loader are successfully found out by analyzing the peak of pure tone. The fan is a major noise source when the loader is working. It is more convenient and cheaper to optimal the fan than to improve other structures to reduce noise. The paper uses Optimiser 7 software, in consideration of the air volume, static pressure, noise, price and other multiple aspects, to optimal the fan and finally selects the one that not only meets requirements of heat dissipation and cost but also is lower than the current noise level. The feasibility of the method in the paper is verified.
