An Energy Balanced Load Aware Relay Selection in Cooperative Routing for Wireless Sensor Network

In Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), energy consumption minimization is the one of the most important issue in transmission of data with required quality of service. In this paper, energy balanced load aware relay selection in cooperative routing protocol is proposed which is based on energy and packet reception ratio threshold. In this protocol, shortest route is formed from source node to sink node. Based on the Packet Reception Ratio, routing nodes select the mode of operation i.e. direct or relay based transmission. For relayed transmission, relay selection algorithm is also proposed. Extensive simulation study is carried out on network simulator to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed routing protocol.
