Novel all-time initial alignment method for INS/CNS integrated navigation system

A novel method of initial alignment has been proposed for Inertial Navigation System(INS)/Celestial Navigation System(CNS) integrated navigation system. Traditional initial alignment method has been abandoned due to the disadvantages of earth's rotational-angular velocity and gravity, slow changing-ratio and weak excitation, while utilizing star sensor to observe stars also has the constraints of observation conditions and observation orientation in real situation, especially near the ground. To solve the problems above, the method of using star sensor to complete initial alignment in visible light circumstance has been proposed. By measuring the calibration plane, the attitude and translation of CNS relating to the calibration plane can be derived, then transmitted to the INS to achieve coarse alignment. Fine alignment is realized by using Kalman Filter to process a series of attitude and translation information in different positions. After simulation, the results show that the rapidity has been improved extremely at the same time of ensuring the accuracy, compared with the traditional initial alignment method.
