Method and device for flexible mmt asset transmission and reception

The present invention relates to a method for flexible MMT packet transmission of multi-layered media data, comprising the steps of: generating an MMT asset by encapsulation on the basis of a media processing unit (MPU), which is generated on the basis of a media access unit (AU); generating MMT composition information (MMT-CI) relating to the MMT asset; generating an MMT packet by packetization of the MMT asset and the MMT-CI; and transmitting the generated MMT packet to a receiving party, wherein the MMT-CI comprises dependency information between the MMT asset and at least one other MMT asset. According to the present invention, it is possible to notify whether or not an MMT asset is dependent on another MMT asset in the transmission and reception of multi-layered media data, and it is possible to support smooth decoding of an MMT asset in providing a hybrid transmission-based MMT service.
