Water Leak Analysis and Countermeasure of Movable Beams on Heating Furnace by FEM

The planar and 3DM solid models of the water beam on heating furnace have been presented by investigating the practical situation on site. Based on the FEM results given by ANSYS, it is found that the essential reasons of crack initiation are the difference in height and the deformation of the water beam under alternate loads at high temperature. At last, the quality of the weld is improved and the operation life can be prolonged when the tee coupling type welded construction is adopted.
