Connecting Random Acts of Quality: Global System Standard

Within the global design and construction industry, leaders have adopted total quality management (TQM) as the strategy to move closer to consistently satisfied clients and project profits—each job, each time, without exception. For many the measurement framework offered by the international standard, ISO 9000, integrated with the quality principles of TQM is providing a new platform for charting their success. The quality age is entering the measurement phase. TQM is a lot like common sense, but common sense should never be left to chance. It comes as no surprise that quality does not happen by accident. Today's most successful organizations plan for quality by creating strategies, developing plans and policies to deploy the strategies, and reinforcing them in daily work. Measurement is a way of keeping score. ISO 9000 is the international measurement tool of choice.
