Enhanced Power Generation from Piezoelectric System under Partial Vibration Condition

Partial vibration reduces the energy yield of the piezoelectric system. The performance of the system deteriorates during partial vibration condition. The losses in the piezoelectric system during partial vibration condition depend on the vibration pattern, system configuration and the physical location of the partially vibrated modules in the system. In this paper, a method is presented to configure the system such that the power generated under partial vibration condition is enhanced. In this approach, the piezoelectric system is arranged in a Total Cross Tied (TCT) connection. This pattern reduces the effect of partial vibration on the system thereby enhancing the generated power.
