The yellowing of epoxy resin adhesives: report on natural dark aging

Abstract Various room temperature cure epoxy resin adhesives suitable for glass conservation have been tested for their resistance to yellowing under natural dark aging conditions (22°C). Trends in yellowing in relation to chemical composition of formulations are discussed. Although the majority of epoxy resins tested demonstrated an unacceptable level of stability, some resins havebeen identified with an intermediate level of stability and can be recommended for use in conservation.
