Hereditary multiple exostoses. Report of a case with spinal cord compression.

A case of hereditary multiple exostoses in which spinal cord compression by a neural arch exostosis occurred is reported in a 14 year old female.An exostosis impinging on the spinal cord is an unusual complication of this disease, but the radiologist should be aware of its possibility. In the patient with spinal cord signs, the offending exostosis should be diagnosed with appropriate roentgenograms and myelographic investigation.
