An analysis of encoding bit rates on mean opinion score and eye movements for video streaming

As the Internet access over broadband networks is growing, multimedia communications with video using MPEG will be widely used. User level Quality of Service (QoS) will be needed at ubiquitous, multimedia and applied computing environment using MPEG that directly affects human's sense. We have conducted an experiment in order to investigate relation between MPEG encoding bit rates and user level QoS. This study treated both Mean Opinion Score and eye movement as metrics of user level QoS. The result of MOS shows that the threshold of user level QoS is between 200 and 400 Kbps of our video contents.
