Boiling Simulation of Position Based Fluid

Boiling simulation is one of the important aspects in fluid simulation, which involves complex hydrodynamics and formulation. Most previous work focused on grid based simulation method. However, particle based simulation method is more capable to capture the details of fluid which has continuous topology changes. In this paper, we present a new boiling simulation method of Position Based Fluids (PBF) with mass transfer and heat transfer mechanism. In our method, a new controllable mass transfer model which can control the bubble generation speed, and a new heat transfer model which combines heat conduction and heat convection together are put forward. And besides, we simplify the buoyancy force calculation for bubble dynamics. Our method is a pure particle based method which can have a larger time step and improved robustness.
