Radiant Transfer Through a Gray Gas Between Concentric Cylinders Using Monte Carlo

Solutions are obtained for the radiation heat transfer and emissive power distribution between infinitely long concentric gray cylinders at different wall temperatures and emissivities enclosing a gray nonisothermal gas with a uniformly distributed heat source. Solutions for black surfaces are obtained by the Monte Carlo method. These solutions are generalized by means of derived transformation equations relating the gray surface and black surface cases. Comparison of these results is made to the diffusion approximation solution with jump boundary condition. The effect of parameters on the heat transfer and emissive power distribution in the gas is discussed.
