Security Measures in the Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks - Man in the Middle Attack

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is an indispensable part of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). It depends on correspondence between progressively associated vehicles and static Road Side Units (RSU). It could offer different applications such as crash shirking cautions, soak bend admonitions and infotainment. VANET has a huge potential to improve traffic effectiveness, and street well-being by trading basic data between hubs (vehicles and RSU). However, this communication between nodes is liable to an assortment of assaults, such as Man-In-The-Middle (MITM) attacks which represent a major risk in VANET. The paper presents MITM impact on VANET network and strategies that hackers might adopt to launch the attacks that could cause delay, drop or tamper of sent messages between the cars.
