An experimental study was performed for understanding the cooling performance of Loop-type Heat Pipe designed and manufactured for applying to telecommunication system cabinets. The present LHP has turning structure at both evaporator and condenser. As the results of a series of tests, the LHP with R-22 as a working fluid and 100% of filling ratio could take out 1㎾ of heat under the needed cabinet allowable temperature condition no more than 60℃. If the two-set of LHP is used, about 2㎾ of heat transport could be achieved and that satisfy the condition which the allowable temperature difference between inlet of evaporator and inlet of condenser is no more than 15℃. The LHP with turning structure fully indicated a small temperature difference below 3℃ between evaporator and condenser as heat pipe characteristics. In the meantime, the test results of cabinet LHP packaged in shows that the about 1.2㎾ of heat could be dissipated below 60℃ of cabinet inside.
