Impact of analog cancellation error on full-duplex wireless communications system over Rayleigh fading channel

Recent work has shown the feasibility of the scheme to allow nodes to send and receive in the same frequency at the same time. With this scheme, the capacity of wireless communication system can be improved since only one channel instead of two is needed for duplexing. In this paper, we investigate the impact of analog cancellation error on the bit error rate (BER) performance of full duplex wireless communication system. Considering the transmission delay error, amplitude error and phase error of analog cancellation, we derive the analytic BER expression of binary phase shift keying (BPSK) in Rayleigh fading channel. Compared with the ideal analog cancellation system, the performance loss 4.4dB when the phase error is 0.001 degree, relative amplitude error is 10-5, carrier frequency is 2GHz and SIR is -70dB.
