This contribution introduces a concept of a Web based laboratory, the ”FIPS”-project, offering several experiments in controlling, observing and analysing of real objects via the Internet. All single steps of the laboratory process starting with the design of control algorithms up to the web-based validation will be presented on the basis of an existing laboratory experiment. Derived from that, the required system architecture of the project “FIPS”' will be shown and different kinds of realizations will be compared regarding the execution of the designed control algorithm.
